WhatsApp stop their support of the old mobile operating system
WhatsApp announced it would withdraw its support from 5 mobile operating systems, including BlackBerry and BlackBerry 10 at the end of 2016. This was revealed by WhatsApp in a posting on its official blog uploaded on Friday.

As for the operating system in question is as follows:

  • Nokia S40,
  • Nokia Symbian S60,
  • Windows Phone 7.1,
  • Android 2.1 and Android 2.2, and
  • BlackBerry (including BlackBerry 10)

According WhatsApp, it was done because it wanted to focus on the mobile platform that is still widely used alone.

"The operating system has become an important part of our history, but they do not have the ability that can make us grow in the future," wrote WhatsApp.

WhatsApp also suggested if there are still users of mobile devices with the operating system on top, then you should switch to Android devices, iPhone or Windows Phone latest before the end of 2016. Users of BlackBerry OS itself at the end of 2015 and it is getting smaller. ComScore Survey Mobilens calls BlackBerry users in December 2015 period and 0.9% lived alone.

In fact, according to Strategy Analytics survey, BlackBerry has lost prestige of the Tizen OS, a Linux-based operating system developed by Samsung is now the 4th most popular OS in the world after Android, iOS, and Windows Phone.
